This Itinerary is currently being worked on. Some things will change and be moved around. Some things will be added, and some removed. This will be finalized likely by end of July 2025.
Capture the dramatic cliffs of Cape Breton, the iconic Peggy’s Cove lighthouse, and charming fishing villages. With long daylight hours and lush summer scenery, this tour offers endless opportunities for stunning landscape photography. Whether you're drawn to seascapes, wildlife, or historic sites, Nova Scotia’s natural beauty will inspire every shot.
Our itinerary is subject to change, and is still in progress. We may switch up days, shoot orders, etc. to accommodate for changing weather and the pace of the group.
At this time of year, sunrises occur around 5:30 AM and sunsets occur around 9 PM. Summer means long days. We will likely not be shooting sunrise and sunset every day but have a mix of both. We will dine out each night before the sunset.

We anticipate staying 2 nights close by to Peggy's Cove, 2 nights likely in Ingonish Beach along the Cabot Trail, and 1 night in Cheticamp. There is a lot of ground to cover on this trip, so we will place ourselves where it makes the most sense for where we want to be.
Check back in July 2026 for updated information.
If you are flying in from Boston, we recommend flying direct from Boston Logan to Halifax the evening before, and booking a hotel room nearby the airport. If you are flying from elsewhere, you should time your flights to arrive in Halifax before 4 PM.
If you have the day to explore, we recommend taking a taxi from the hotel and spending the day in downtown Halifax and exploring sites like the Citadel, the public gardens, and the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic.
We plan to pick up the group in the late afternoon depending on arrival flights.
With views of the Atlantic Ocean and the famous lighthouse, Tom's serves fresh, locally sourced dishes like lobster rolls, chowder, and scallops.
Now that you've had the opportunity to scope out your favorite perspectives, try it again but this time without the crowds.
After a morning break and breakfast, we will head out to explore Mahone Bay with it's 3 churches, and colorful Lunenberg - a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its stunning waterfront and vibrant, historic buildings. Wander through the charming streets, take in the unique architecture, and enjoy the lively atmosphere.
Explore along and inside the sea caves or "Ovens" of this unique natural park and trail.
Discover Grand-Pré National Historic Site, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that celebrates the Acadian culture. Take a leisurely stroll along the trails, where you can enjoy beautiful views of the surrounding fields and the Minas Basin.
Have an elegant and delicious lunch at Le Caveau - "the best of Nova Scotia's wine culture" and one of the best restaurants in the area. All local and in-season ingredients, paired with, of course, the wine, and views of the Annapolis Valley.
Burntcoat is the exact site of the world’s highest tides. We will make sure to visit close to low tide so that we can explore the incredible compositions that are revealed.
160 billion tonnes of water flow in and out of the Bay of Fundy with each tide.
We will head to our next home base on Cape Breton Island. The drive from the Vineyard to where we are headed is approximately 5 hours. We will make road stops along the way to break this up.
Today we will begin our way along the Cabot Trail, often referred to as one of the most scenic drives in the world.
Here, we will spend time to see things more abstractly. We will explore the small harbor and find lines, shapes, colors and light that captivates us. We will challenge you to shoot in a different way than you might normally. There's also a giant whale tale you can get your picture taken under before our whale watch!
This hiking trail in Cape Breton Island National Park is not to be missed. This trail takes you along boardwalk paths overlooking the ocean.
It is mostly gravel with a few boardwalks. It’s a rather level trail with a slight incline which won’t be noticeable until you start hiking back. We will be doing the "out and back" hike, instead of the entire loop.
You won't want to miss the sunset here. We will walk back as a group with proper flashlights and headlamps.
We should have time to revisit a favorite location before our departure - if you can wake up early enough!
Fly back home from Halifax. This will be updated soon. If you are not on the same flight as ours, please make sure you do not depart earlier than the flight listed here.
This tour is rated as moderate. We will be getting up for sunrises on some days, and staying late through the sunset on some evenings. In summer, the sunset isn’t until almost 9 PM. There will be some hiking along the Cabot Trail. These hikes are not strenuous, but they do require the ability to walk for a couple of hours, with breaks for photos and enjoying the scenery. Trails consists of gravel pathways, packed dirt, and boardwalks. Some areas may have exposed roots and rocks.
