We'll explore hidden gems and legendary landmarks, chasing character and nostalgia. Whether you're drawn to vibrant roadside culture, dramatic sunsets, or the authentic charm of small-town America, Route 66 offers endless opportunities to create memorable images.

This tour will be a low-impact "road trip" adventure. Embrace the spirit of photographic freedom by capturing the charms of "America's Main Street" with whatever device you wish: A Polaroid, a digital camera, a vintage film rangefinder, a smartphone... Anything goes!

We will pick everyone up either at the airport or in a nearby location in Las Vegas, NV.

We begin our exploration of Route 66 in the quirky ghost town of Oatman, AZ, known for its Old West storefronts and hotels, but world-renowned for its native population of free-roaming burros! Remember your selfie stick like it's still 2010.

Located along one of the most unique and desolate stretches of Route 66, Cool Springs has been featured in several Hollywood productions (and was even completely blown up in the Jean-Claude Van Damme classic, Universal Soldier), and is is an iconic rest stop for travelers traversing the rugged desert of western Arizona.

Known as "The Heart of Historic Route 66", Kingman is home to the Route 66 Museum and visitor center in the historic powerhouse building, and features a massive 1928 steam locomotive that celebrates the town's rich railway heritage. Capture the charm of Beale St., including the 1899 Hotel Beale, and enjoy a weekend classic car show.

Two tiny community along Old Route 66 featuring classic cars, quirky photo ops, and endless memorabilia. The administrative capital of the Hualapai Tribe of Native Americans, Peach Springs is the real-life inspiration for Radiator Springs from the Cars movie franchise.

You and your camera won't believe this till you see it. The Grand Canyon Caverns are among the largest dry caverns in the U.S. and feature a perfectly preserved specimen of the prehistoric giant ground sloth known as Megatherium and a storehouse of rations from World War II that are, supposedly, still edible (but I'd recommend taking an antacid first).

Commonly acknowledged as "The Birthplace of Route 66", the high desert town of Seligman, AZ has some of the best restaurants and drive-in diners on the entire route (including the suspiciously-named Roadkill Cafe), along with numerous mid-century neon signs, murals, and vintage cars. Further east on the Route, Ash Fork features retro motels and a Route 66 museum. We then ascend to the mountain towns of northern Arizona, with a stop in Williams, the home of the historic Grand Canyon Railway, for all you train lovers. We'll turn in for the evening in the vibrant city of Flagstaff and cool down in the fresh air at 7,000 feet as we feast our eyes on Arizona's tallest mountains, the San Francisco Peaks.

Roadside attractions abound as we make several iconic stops today, including the dilapidated gas station at Twin Arrows; stand on the corner made famous by that Eagles song about Winslow, Arizona; photograph the bizarre tepee rooms of the Wigwam Motel in Holbrook; and look out over a mind-bogglingly enormous meteor impact crater!

You haven't lived until you've seen the "Uranium capital of the United States", so we'll do just that in Grants, NM, home of the New Mexico Mining Museum.

Tucumcari is as far east as we can go in New Mexico, and it's worth it to see, arguably, the best neon on the Mother Road, adorning the facades of classic motor courts like The Blue Swallow and souvenir trading posts such as Teepee Curios.

Get your creative juices flowing in the city of Santa Fe (the oldest state capital in the U.S.), known for its distinctive adobe-style architecture and rich artistic heritage, blending Spanish, Native, and Anglo influences.

As Bugs Bunny famously said, ""I knew I shoulda taken that left turn at Albuquerque", so we'll do just that as we conclude this, dare I say, epic journey along the most glorious stretch of the Main Street of America.

Paul Nguyen spends most of the year living right off of Route 66 in Flagstaff, AZ and Kingman, AZ, but has worked from coast to coast across the U.S., and has over 35 years of experience in film and digital photography. He specializes in digital photography of natural landscapes and wildlife, and capturing the authentic experience of outdoor adventure and exploration through his video series.

In April 2017, he served in the prestigious National Park Artist in Residence program at Petrified Forest, Arizona, and continues to create programs for the National Park Service. His accomplishments also include an exclusive assignment as a photographer for the Boston Museum of Science, and a position as a program guide and brand ambassador for Swedish outfitter Fjällräven.

His noteworthy image-making and teaching in the realm of photography have gained him sponsorships from Tamron USA and Sun Surveyor, and his acclaimed adventure and overlanding videos have led to numerous outdoor equipment sponsorships.

Hailing from Massachusetts and now based out of Arizona, Paul spends most of the year exploring the western U.S. to research photo tour destinations and create video content. You may run into him, his Jeep, his trailer, and his cat somewhere along your own travels. Despite the distance, he maintains an active connection to New England camera clubs, and continues to serve as a remote lecturer and competition judge.
