Visit the best of the Cape, without the crowds! The Cape Cod Bay offers unique opportunities for both abstract and traditional landscape photography, for which we will practice both. We’ll visit the tidal flats at sunset and low tide, revealing the most beautiful patterns, colors and layers. We’ll visit the Atlantic side as well, capturing crashing waves, and any sea life that we may encounter. To top it off, ride over the dunes of the Provincelands in our Jeep to Race Point Lighthouse, only accessed by 4x4 or a long hike in the sand. This tour is for the photographer looking for short, classic New England getaway.
This tour is easy. There will be walking in sand, particularly in Provincetown, but no hiking. If we go inside Race Point Light, there is a steep ascent up stairs in a confined area. Some walking on boardwalks.
Please refer to our fitness guide for more detail about physical requirements.

Two Experienced guides & professionals
Arrive and check into the Inn at the Oaks, where we have secured a room for you at this lovely B&B, directly across from the National Seashore Visitor Center. We will pick you up (2 PM) and drive you to each shoot from here on out. We will "get our feet wet" (figuratively, not literally - unless you want to!) at Nauset Beach, where your guides will learn about you and give you some tips about your equipment. After, we will head to Rock Harbor for low tide, one of the best spots on Cape Cod for sunset. We will have dinner nearby before dropping you off at the Inn for the evening.
Wake up bright and early to catch the sunrise on the Seashore. It is a special treat to see the first light of day illuminate the dunes and sea grasses. We will have some time to visit neighboring Nauset Lighthouse. Head back to the Inn for a break and some breakfast. We will reconvene at 12 noon. Have a sandwich lunch at Sam's Deli before hitting the trail into a Cedar Swamp, where we can explore a less characteristic side of the Cape.
We will be eating an early dinner at the iconic Lobster Pot in the heart of Provincetown (4 PM) before our 4x4 adventure over the sand dunes at the tip of the Cape. Visit and photograph the dunes, seals and Race Point Light during sunset. If the weather looks clear, we can photograph the stars as they come out over Highland Lighthouse before retiring for the night.
*If weather becomes an issue, we can always head back to the Inn for an editing and post-processing session.
Sleep in and have a leisurely breakfast. We will pick you up this morning at 8:30 and head to the bayside of the Cape. Low tide on this day will coincide with our arrival, so we can go over a couple of different ways to approach this landscape, including intentional camera movement. This part of the Cape is actually home to the largest tidal flat in North America, meaning you can walk out for miles exploring! After a couple of hours, we will head back to the Inn where we will depart and end our tour.
